Friday Cooking Class

Today the children made Pumpkin Pie. We got some small pumpkins from the Farmer's Market last week and Graham requested pumpkin pie. After scooping the guts, we cut the pumpkin in 1/2 and baked it for 45 minutes at 400 degrees. When it was done we scraped the soft insides into our food processor and processed away. To 1 1/2 cups of pureed pumpkin we added 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 tsp of salt, 2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice, 1/2 tsp of allspice, 1 2/3 cups of evaporated milk and 2 eggs.
