Thanksgiving
We went to Marie's for Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful time and I definitely ate way too much. We were blessed with gorgeous weather! Hope everyone a restful, delicious, thankful day!
Nova, all tucked in
Tree Fort
Randy has started a project. Yes you know what that means... call the hospital and give them a warning and watch for all falling objects. Nah- just kidding. He has been wanting to build the boys a tree fort forever. Jordan is too young to enjoy so Graham will take all the pleasure. It's between 3 trees and get's more complicated as the days go by. He has done and excellent job. Graham is so excited to get up there with his paintball gun and shoot the enemy! More pictures to come...
My boys!
I am not one of those Moms that is always dressing her children the same. It just happen to be one day that they both had the grey cammo on. I thought it was sooooooo adorable. Can I say cammo is adorable? Anyway- it is quite funny for a mostly vegetarian family to have so much cammo in the house (see next picture down), but we are not hunters! Graham is fully obsessed with the military right now! I tell ya, it is making him learn about American history soooo much easier.
Can you see them?
So, Randy comes home with a paintball gun for himself and Graham and now... my backyard looks like a kindergarten painting! Graham LOVES it! Randy took him to some woods to go shooting. They pretended to track the enemy. Randy was Captain Ramsey and Graham was Private Jenkins (?) Randy said Graham would pick up a pine cone and say it was the enemy's phone and Graham would call HQ for some BU. They had a blast!
When the got home they cleaned their guns and had a cold, frosty lemonade!!!
Held together with glue!
These two... I tell ya... peas and carrots!!! Momma? Momma who? Graham is all about Daddy and doing Daddy things! One day Graham was eating his lunch and all of a sudden, out of the blue, he looks at me and says, "I have the greatest Daddy in the world, don't I?" And I say [of coarse] "Yes you do!" They have manly nights and do very manly things like fart and talk about guns. Something I could never fabricate... well!
What a smile!
So... you see the blanket? First I had a passy kid, then I had a thumb sucker... with Jordan we now have experienced, first hand, the blankie! That boy loves his blanket. Or should I say 'bikie'. At first any soft, fuzzy baby blanket would do, but this blue one has become "the one". I haven't dragged it to the grocery store yet, but it's coming. He searches for it and tonight he wanted to put it in the bath tub with him. We got through the passy, still working on the thumb, sure... throw one more habit on the barbie!
My Princess
That's my girl! She poses with her hand raised...? She has really been quite the little talker lately with oh-so many questions. She is writing her name and now has started on other letters of the alphabet. Sitting and listening to a second grader in school has done wonders for her. She sings about the Declaration of Independence and Davey Crockett. She also knows lots of spanish words. My goodness, by the time she's in the second grade, she'll be in the sixth!
HEADS UP!!!
"The grass is dirty," she says!
Hannah is in the question stage! Ug- an exhausting stage. If you tell her the sky is blue, she asks why. If you tell her, because God made is that way, she asks who is God. If you tell her God is our Father in Heaven, she asks what's a heaven... and on and on and on... After a while I give up and start asking her questions. And as a female... she always has an answer!
Jordan as a turtle
This boy is a ball of fun! He is such a hoot! His new word is "poo"! He comes and tells me or Daddy that he has poo in his diaper, EVERY TIME! What a great thing at 19months! Unfortunately, he thinks gas is poo, too. He walks around all day long saying "poo, poo, poo..." His favorite word is "choo" and he loves to say and wear "shoes". Do you hear a pattern?
A tribute to my hubby
Ahhh, the working man. Getting his hands dirty and burned is an everyday occurence. Metal shavings, splinters and cuts won't slow this grip down. I envy his strength and take pride in his gentleness. He molds, makes and manuvers quick on a dime. They tighten bolts and bring home the bacon. These hands work hard everyday. We love you, honey. You really do make the sparks fly!!!
Cooking Class Friday times two!
Hey there! I was a little behind in posting our cooking classes. Graham and Hannah made cereal oat bars last week and fruit salad this week. They got to cook on the stove and cut with a knife. With so much picky eating in our household, using this class to get these two to open their horizons to food, has been great. They love cooking class and just so you know, they pick the menu. Jordan has been into taste testing and stirring. We are also studying our five senses this week, so we used all of our senses in cooking. If you want the cereal bar recipe just email me! They were soooooo good!
First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage...
Like two peas in a pod, like brown on rice... we were made for one another! Someone who is as silly as me and knows how I feel without me having to say a word. He's my other half. I simply could not function without him. He's the best Daddy I've ever seen. When he comes home, it's like Elvis has arrived!
Man Down!
Graham took a fall after tackeling the dog. His shirt is so great! It has check marks next to -blamed sister, -annoyed parents, -played video games... Mission Accomplished! The shirt was made for him!
Me and My Peanut
Jordan is saying a few more words. His new thing is choo-choo. We have tracks in our backyard, so when the train comes by everything in his little life STOPS. He runs around yellig "choo, choo, choo"! Graham was a train freak, too. Good thing I saved all those Thomas the Train tracks and stuff. I put a Thomas the Train video in for the first time and he looked so amazed. He had a train in his hand. He looked at the tv and then at the train in his hand, and then at the tv again... His face expression said "WOW"!
Friendly Fall Creatures
When we went to Farmer's Market with my Grandmother, we picked out a variety of gourds and pumpkins. We washed them and got creative. I got the idea from parents magazine. We had so much fun with these and they are holding up nicely in the yard with the weather. I love to watch walkers point and smile as they go by. We don't do Halloween, so this was a perfect alternative for the kids to decorate the yard for fall. Check your local farmers market for gourds. You can get smaller ones and Indian corn for a festive fall center piece for your table.
If you get creative let me know how it goes!

Friday Cooking Class
Today the children made Pumpkin Pie. We got some small pumpkins from the Farmer's Market last week and Graham requested pumpkin pie. After scooping the guts, we cut the pumpkin in 1/2 and baked it for 45 minutes at 400 degrees. When it was done we scraped the soft insides into our food processor and processed away. To 1 1/2 cups of pureed pumpkin we added 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 tsp of salt, 2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice, 1/2 tsp of allspice, 1 2/3 cups of evaporated milk and 2 eggs.
Jordan gets a turn
Everyone loves to stir
Pie is in the oven
Bring on the pie!
Oowey, Gooey
While our pie baked we made Toasted Pumpkin Seeds. (recipe to the right)
Of coarse Graham loved the squishy feeling of separating the seeds from the pumpkin guts. Hannah... I had to coax and have a dish towel ready for her hands. She hates to get them dirty. (She got that honestly from me)
Jordan Cleans my Floors
Why in the world would I clean my floors when I have Jordan to do it for me? I let this go on for the video, but the norm is to nip it in the bud. He will throw a fit if you look at him sideways these days. Ahhhh- the toddler tantrums. One more to go! Give me strength, Lord!
Outside Painting
Shirts Off!
Well, Fall is here but you wouldn't know by our weather. It's still hot most afternoons. After the kids painted, we played in hose to clean up. Graham and Jordan took their shirts off and of coarse Hannah had to do the same. She's so brown and my boys are so white! They had a great day. Hurry up fall weather.... we are ready to go camping!
